Before studying at the Church of God, I remember reading in Genesis about Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and asking the question, "Why did God create the serpent (Satan) and also the tree of knowledge of good and evil?" I thought in my mind and I could not come up with a clear reason. But when I studied at the Church of God, this answer became very clear. Adam and Eve (Heavenly Angels) in the garden were not perfect (Eden spiritually represents Heaven). They had the potential to sin at any moment, all they needed was a reason and an action. God did not want to create a perfect robot that neither had love for God nor knew the love of God. For this reason, God created a command that He knew they would disobey. When they broke the command Adam and Eve (Angels) were kicked out of Heaven to this earth to pay the penalty of sin, which is death. While living on this earth, the only way to return to eternal life and Heaven was to eat the flesh and drink the blood of God who came into the flesh (Christ). The way to recieve eternal life is by celebrating the Passover, through which sinners are allowed to live forever unconditionally, since they are made perfect.
